Whizzing around the world in a paper plane: new cult game from Ravensburger on Facebook

Making paper planes is known and beloved by everyone. "Which one can fly the farthest" has been a popular hobby for many since school days. Now the popular leisure activity is really taking off on Facebook: Magic Flight, the Ravensburger online game, is bringing hobby aviators and their friends skywards - virtually, of course. Unlike the usual method of folding the planes and launching them, this digital game of paper planes makes full use of the advantages offered by social interaction on Facebook.  

Flying around the world with Darryl
The aim of the game is set in a cute story. Darryl the squirrel is setting off on a trip around the world because he wants to complete the last expedition that his grandfather undertook. He intends to do a grand tour, accompanied by the biggest possible fleet of paper planes. Sought-after artefacts are waiting to be found in the different landscapes – with a legendary Golden Nut at the end. Darryl's expedition starts in Venice with one small paper plane. He "tunes" it in the course of the game and builds new planes to open up new landscapes. The key is: collect, collect, collect.

Competition: who can fly better, faster, higher?
Flying farther, more precisely and higher: to get up high, you need to sweep up artefacts, coins and (especially) paper inMagic Flight. The paper is used to build new planes. Items collected previously are needed for the planes' blueprints. By working hard and picking everything up, you can exchange your inventory and install heat-shields or upgrade the aeronautic system by adding guidance equipment. You are competing the whole time with your Facebook friends and playing with – and against – them. 

New genre of games
"Magic Flight combines the genre of keep-it-up games with elements from virtual management games. The result is a humorous mixture of fun, which you want to play again and again", explains Stefanie Konrad, the game's product manager at Ravensburger Digital.
